This creation may not make you a better chess player, but I'm betting it will be the nicest board you've ever played on! The playing area is constructed with 1 1/2" black walnut for the dark squares and clear epoxy for the light squares. White metallic epoxy underneath gives a radiant sparkle to it all. The entire piece is finished with table top epoxy for exceptional durability and a high gloss shine.
The edges of the chess board is where it really gets fun. This piece was made with seashells and teal tinted epoxy for a coastal themed home. The possibilities for what goes in this area are endless. And possibly the best part: the lighting underneath! The inside is lined with an LED light strip and battery pack, controlled by an included remote control. Set the board to your favorite color for your game, or let the board fade through multiple colors as you play.
