Looking back at past projects, I think this is the coolest thing I’ve ever built.
a single slab over 9 feet long of highly figured black walnut was transformed into this entertainment center. The legs are a continuation of the single slab, with the grain continuously flowing down both sides, giving the double waterfall effect. You can see from the photos that this slab was not your ordinary piece of black walnut. The burl within the slab gave amazing figuring, with the grain running in every direction. Offcuts from the main slab were used to creat the double live edge shelf, providing a perfect match to the main slab. All voids were filled with metallic epoxy, and the whole piece was polished to a satin sheen.
