Our Story

From the skies to the workshop, Danwood Design was born from a love of creating something with our own hands.

Danwood Design is a husband-and-wife business built on a shared love of creativity, craftsmanship, and beautiful things made by hand.

For most of his career, Travis has been an Air Force pilot, flying the AC-130 Gunship. As he began looking toward retirement, he knew he wanted to do something completely different for the next chapter of his life. He had always enjoyed working on projects around our home, and over the years, those projects began to grow into something more.

He built a small picnic table for our family at one home, followed by a beautiful farmhouse table at another. Those projects sparked an idea: What if he could build beautiful, functional, and meaningful pieces for other people, too?

And so, Danwood Design began to take shape.

We started building the business together—attending shows, learning the craft, experimenting with wood and epoxy, and figuring out what it meant to turn a passion into a small business. Along the way, we discovered that we love not only creating the pieces, but also the relationships and stories that come with them.

Travis is the craftsman behind the workbench and the primary woodworker. He brings each piece to life with woodworking and epoxy, taking the time to find the right wood, highlight its natural character, and create something truly unique. Jennifer works behind the scenes, contributing creative ideas, helping with the shows, and sharing our work through social media.

In August 2026, Travis officially retired from the Air Force and took the leap into woodworking full time. What started with projects for our own home has grown into a business we are incredibly proud to build together.

From charcuterie boards and smaller handmade pieces to custom coffee tables, dining tables, and statement pieces, we put time and care into every project. Each piece is designed and crafted individually, allowing the natural beauty of the wood to shine through.

One of our favorite parts of what we do is working with our customers to bring their ideas to life. Whether you have a specific vision in mind or simply know that you want something special, we love creating pieces that fit your home, your style, and your story.

At the end of the day, Danwood Design is about more than wood and epoxy. It's about creating something meaningful together as a family business and making pieces that become part of the homes, gatherings, and memories of the people who bring them home.
